Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health evaluations, documenting initial interviews and subsequent progress throughout treatment.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans and intervention strategies for individuals, couples, families, and groups based on assessment findings.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, promoting a safe and supportive space for clients to share their experiences.
  • Continuously monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including healthcare professionals and social workers, to enhance the effectiveness of intervention strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records in electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide follow-up care and support, including communication with hospital staff and psychiatrists as needed for clients requiring inpatient services.
  • Educate and guide family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with strategies to manage mental and behavioral health challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Hillside Behavioral Health Center, you will work with a diverse client base suffering from a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma-related issues, and addiction. Your compassionate approach will help clients navigate their challenges, enabling them to achieve their personal goals and improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas.
  • Successful completion of the NCE and/or NCMHCE examinations.
  • Strong understanding of the latest developments in psychotherapy and mental health best practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote setting as part of a dedicated healthcare team.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience as a mental health counselor in a community health setting or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, for effective case management.
  • Knowledge of addiction disorders and associated physical and emotional health conditions.
  • Experience implementing best practices in alignment with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) guidelines.
Compensation and Benefits
