• Conduct preliminary interviews and thorough evaluations of clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health, documenting the entire therapeutic journey from initial consultation to discharge.
• Develop individualized treatment and recovery plans that consider the unique needs of individuals as well as couples, families, and group dynamics.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based methods to foster trust and promote client progress.
• Continuously monitor and assess client progress throughout their treatment plan, adapting strategies as necessary to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to design holistic intervention plans that address all aspects of client care.
• Maintain consistent communication with healthcare professionals to follow up on hospital admissions and coordinate care for clients requiring inpatient services.
• Identify and mitigate behaviors that hinder recovery, providing crisis intervention support when needed.
• Empower family members and primary caregivers with strategies to effectively support their loved ones facing mental health challenges.

At New Beginnings, we serve a diverse client population that includes children, adolescents, adults, and families facing a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Your role will be fundamental in fostering recovery and helping clients navigate their mental health journeys, ultimately enhancing their quality of life.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT within the state of Texas is essential.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is required.
• Demonstrated experience in mental health counseling, with proven clinical insight and a compassionate approach to client care.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, is preferred.

• Experience working with clients who have co-occurring physical health conditions and addiction disorders.
• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• In-depth understanding of how different medications prescribed by physicians may interact with mental health care.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate treatment plans and progress effectively.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a natural ability to connect with clients and their families.
