Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the PT in following safety standards established for the physical therapy department.
  • Following established departmental policies and procedures, including an appropriate dress code.
  • Be alert for resident safety during all therapy.
  • Comply with the Facility’s established safety precautions.
  • Assist in using safety equipment and supplies when lifting or moving residents.
  • Assist in ensuring physical therapy practices and procedures comply with current applicable regulations.
  • Following established infection control procedures and standard and universal precautions when performing duties.
  • Assist in ensuring the safety and comfort of the resident while going to and from the therapy room or area.
  • Assist in ensuring that the therapy area is maintained in a clean and safe manner for resident comfort and convenience by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform such duties or services.
  • Following reporting procedures when observing hazardous conditions or equipment.
  • Wearing personal protective clothing when performing services that involve potential exposure to blood or body fluids.
  • Reporting missing and illegible labels or SDSs to your supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Unencumbered license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of New Jersey
