Job description

Bettcher Industries is a leading developer and manufacturer of innovative precision cutting and trimming tools for food processing and industrial applications. The company also manufactures equipment for the restaurant, fast food and institutional foodservice. All products developed by Bettcher are designed to contribute to better working health, safety and comfort, while also improving the efficiency and bottom-line profitability for our customers.

The Engineering and Manufacturing Co-op completes activities centered around:

  • Training with the Fortifi business process and utilities these skills to advance various projects within the Engineering and Manufacturing environment
  • Supports various engineering projects with mechanical principles and problem-solving techniques
  • Creates and modifies production and manufacturing drawings supporting various product lines
  • Conducts physical product testing working with senior engineers in lab environments
  • Development, application, and maintenance of manufacturing standards for industrial processes, materials, and products
  • Utilizes standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in mechanical engineering

Responsibilities

  • Works with the New Product Development and Sustaining Engineering Teams to support various projects and design launches
  • SolidWorks proficient student who can model, assembly, and draft within the system producing quality CAD data to manufacturing
  • Root cause Analysis implementation of corrective action process related concerns
  • Assist leadership in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system
  • Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, and continuous improvement.
  • Interface with engineering and operations to ensure transfer to production of new products are in accordance with approved data.
  • Create and Maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, and engineering standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school education and actively pursuing a minimum of BS degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or General Engineering.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • SolidWorks proficiency in basic modeling, assembly, and drafting techniques
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office® (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Prefer knowledge and understanding of GD&T
