Position Summary:

The Audiovisual (AV) Field Engineer - II provides technical commissioning and field engineering support for integrated AV/IT systems. This role combines system configuration, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation to ensure systems perform as designed and are ready for client acceptance.

Working closely with project managers, engineers, installation teams, programmers, and clients, this position provides intermediate technical expertise across audio, video, control systems, DSP, and networking.

What You'll Do

  • Commission, test, configure, and troubleshoot integrated AV/IT systems
  • Load, test, and edit control system code and graphical user interface files with remote assistance as needed
  • Configure audio, video, control, conferencing, DSP, and networked AV systems
  • Set up, test, and color balance video displays
  • Perform system testing, identify deficiencies, and support punch list resolution through final client acceptance
  • Verify systems are complete and operating in accordance with project documentation and requirements
  • Maintain accurate field documentation, configuration files, programs, and system markups
  • Partner with project and installation teams to resolve technical issues and support successful project completion
  • Provide system training to clients and support the development of newer Field Engineers as assigned
  • Follow required safety practices while working at customer and construction sites

What We're Looking for

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred
  • 4+ years of AV/IT field engineering, commissioning, or related technical experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of integrated audio, video, control, conferencing, DSP, and networking systems
  • Experience with AV platforms such as Crestron, Extron, QSC, AMX, Biamp, BSS, or similar technologies
  • Experience loading, testing, troubleshooting, and making basic edits to control system code and graphical user interfaces
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, digital communication protocols, and programming languages such as Python, HTML, C# Pro, or similar
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer service, and organizational skills
  • AVIXA CTS and CompTIA A+ or equivalent certifications, or ability to obtain both within one year of hire
  • Ability to travel to customer sites and work varying schedules, including occasional evenings, weekends, and overnight travel
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of field-based AV work, including lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance and working in active construction environments
