AV Project Engineer
AV Project Engineer is a client facing position that provides project administrative and technical assistance to the Project Managers, Global Program Manager and/or project team during the entire lifecycle of a technical or engineering Audio Visual project. This professional ensures the design, consistency, and functionality of a project throughout its execution of simple and complex projects.
The individual, under the guidance of a Project Managers, Global Program Manager, may also be responsible for delivery of transactional projects and standard financial documentation for certain projects.
The position requires remote and on-site attendance.
Project delivery
Under the guidance of a Project Managers, Global Program Manager and/or project team, the Project Engineer adheres to and ensures that the projects deliver the as-sold solution, remains within baselined budget and are delivered on time, while achieving quality criteria and maintaining client satisfaction. This individual will help manage delivery of the project or projects according to the Project/Program methodology. They will also communicate with key stakeholders regarding the status of their projects. The individual is able to liaise with clients and capable of managing several engagements or standard/coordinated projects simultaneously. They are able to clearly communicate and coordinate the relationship with (third) parties for the delivery of resources and contractors when necessary.
Behavioral skills
The individual has a proactive approach, pays attention to detail, has good verbal and written communication skills and has a client service orientation. Project Engineers demonstrate an understanding of the project environment and stakeholder interests.
The Project Engineer needs to have a fundamental understanding of business and project processes, structures and control requirements. The individual has a good understanding of AV project life cycles, and takes responsibility for all finishing aspects of the projects.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
In this position you will be required to:
  • Overseeing the Development of AV Architectural Drawings, System Flows, Cable/Conduit Risers, Product Detail pages
  • Reviewing and refining Bills of Material
  • Communicating Infrastructure and architectural requirements to construction teams
  • Communicating System implementation plans to installation teams
  • Communicating AV Networking requirements to Clients Network teams
  • Identifying and developing Change Orders
  • Preparing, Scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring all assigned projects
  • Communicate affectively during daily interactions with clients to interpret their requirements.
  • Manage and Maintain quality control in every area, including vendor performance, planning, scheduling, and budget.
  • Submitting reports on project status
  • Monitoring compliance in all aspects of the projects
  • Communicate effectively with the project managers and other team members to provide administration assistance and technical support.
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiating appropriate corrective actions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that the project delivers the as-sold solution, while achieving quality criteria and maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to project standards and project delivery methodologies defined within the standard configuration documents are completed by the third party.
  • Comply with the agreed standards, governance model, methodologies and tools prescribed by the Program Management Office for program and project delivery.
  • Third party management - coordinate the relationship with third parties for the delivery of resources and contractors when necessary
  • Ensure the project profitability is in line with the As Sold expectations.
Requirements, Education, and Training
  • CTS
  • CTS-I and -D advantageous
  • Thorough understanding of Audio Visual and Video Collaboration
  • Engineering qualification/diploma
Experience
  • Building and cultivating relationships, utilizing a consultative approach
  • High standard of personal integrity & professionalism
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite (Teams, Word, Excel, OneNote)
  • Excellent organizational, time management and communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent motivation, follow-up, documentation, prioritization, customer service and multitasking skills.
  • Must have creative can-do attitude, a strong work ethic and the ability to work well with others and build relationships with employees and customers with varying personalities.
  • Ability to conduct this job from the employees residence, a self-starting and highly motivated approach, among the attributes listed above is key.
  • Willingness to attend projects within the Puget Sound area with minimal notice
