Job description

Function

The AV Programming and Commissioning Technician is responsible for overseeing the success of individual AV projects by completing the programming and commissioning of networked audio and video systems. Primary responsibilities include project AV system programming and UCI design, audio DSP and networking configurations, as well as in shop or onsite AV equipment system testing and vetting. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand the overall expectations, timeline, and scope of work of AV projects
  • Read and interpret CSI and architectural and engineering drawings
  • Learn and apply CSI AV installation and technical standards
  • Coordinate and perform commissioning and configuration tasks for networked audio and video systems
  • Program AV routing and control systems, including user controlled interfaces
  • Configure AV IT networks when needed for installed AV systems
  • Submit required End of Day update reports to the appropriate management team
  • Perform troubleshooting and service for installed AV systems
  • Train end users on installed AV systems
  • Provide customer service with end-users while on job sites and link them with CSI sales or engineering when necessary
  • Document technical changes or modifications to any installed AV system
  • Provide product related support and guidance as needed

Skill/Experience Requirements

  • At least three (3) years field installation experience OR
  • At least three (3) years AV programming, configuration and commissioning experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Certifications are a plus: QSC Q-sys Level 1 & 2 (Control 101 & 202 preferred), Harman Audio Architect, Extron Control Specialist, Crestron P101 (P202 & P303 preferred), AMX programming or other related commissioning & programming skills

Physical Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Work at heights on ladders, lifts and stage grids
  • Physical ability to walk, crawl and work in difficult positions and areas
