in San Bernardino

$19.50 Per Hour

**Flexibility with Shifts is Required**

Weekend and holiday availability is required

Applicants need to be flexible with their schedule and willing to work weekends, day, evenings, overnights and holidays, if needed. 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in security or customer service fields.

Security Officers, sometimes referred to as Security Guards, deter criminal activity, protect property and enforce rules on a property. Some monitor surveillance cameras and alarms from a stationary position, while others patrol areas and do security checks. In factories, warehouses and offices, Security Officers provide protection for equipment and workers along with checking the credentials of vehicles and individuals coming and going from the premises.  An auxiliary officer is expected to be adaptable and ready to cover shifts, provide temporary security coverage, or fill in for other officers when needed.

Responsibilities: 

Observation and Vigilance:

  • Must remain alert at all times, observe their surroundings, looking for signs of suspicious activity, potential threats, or disorderly conduct. Ensure all employees, contractors and visitors' badges are visible at all times.
  • Acknowledge unusual activities and investigate further or report it to the appropriate personnel.

Access Control:

  • Responsible for monitoring access points. Check badges or identification to ensure only authorized individuals enter the appropriate buildings that they have access for.  Unauthorized individuals have to go through the screening process until verified. No tailgating is allowed. All employees, visitors and contractors must individually swipe their access cards wherever there are card readers.
  • Verify and document all incoming and outgoing trucks, trailers, and other vehicles.
  • Check driver identification, shipping manifests, bills of lading, and load documentation.
  • Ensure only authorized vehicles and personnel enter or exit the facility.
  • Issue and collect visitor/driver badges and maintain sign-in/out logs.

Crime Prevention and Deterrence:

  • Be able to act as a visible deterrent against criminal activity to ensure the safety of others.
  • Conduct patrols on all platforms, parking lots, and other areas to prevent theft, vandalism, or other crimes.

Emergency Response:

  • In case of emergencies (medical incidents, accidents, fires, etc.), must be able to take swift action.
  •  Assist with evacuations, provide first aid, or call for help.
  • Familiarity with emergency protocols and communication systems is essential.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Must be able maintain detailed records of incidents, disturbances, or any unusual occurrences.
  • Accurate note taking helps with investigations and ensures proper follow-up.

Customer Service:

  • Able to interact with employees, visitors and contractors, providing assistance and information when needed.
  • Politeness, patience, and clear communication are essential for positive interactions.
  • Provide excellent customer service which could include giving directions, opening doors and greeting employees, visitors and contractors in a proper manner.  

Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of security experience. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid State BSIS California Guard Card.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Current and clean DMV Driver's License
  • Familiarity with report writing.
  • Computer skills are a must.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Monitoring and surveillance experience.
  • Essential Computer Competencies.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks.
  • Comfortable with Outdoor Environment in Diverse Weather Conditions.
  •  Security Guard Experience Preferred, Not Required!
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment background check.
