Responsibilities
In this role the Diener/Prep Technician will perform the following job duties:
  • Report directly to the supervisor of the assigned area.
  • Provide autopsy services as directed by the case attending pathologist.
  • Assist with the autopsy procedure, maintains equipment and stocks supplies used in Morgue and Gross Room.
  • Ordering, accessioning, specimen processing and test preparation functions.
  • Prioritize duties to maximize efficiency.
  • Dispose of waste specimens and chemicals.
  • Provide excellent customer service with lab employees, other hospital departments and external customers.

FTE: 1.0
Hours: 9:30am-6:00pm
Days: Monday-Friday
Qualifications
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: Associate's Degree
Necessary Skills:
  • Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care.

Experience
Required: 1-2 years of experience performing autopsies
