An Automotive Technical Service Advisor is a professional who acts as a liaison between customers and the service department at an auto repair shop or dealership. They assess customers' vehicle concerns, explain necessary repairs and maintenance, and provide estimates for services. Technical Service Advisors also communicate with technicians to accurately diagnose issues and ensure timely completion of work. Their goal is to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain the efficient operation of the service department.

How does an automotive technical service advisor collaborate with technicians and customers to ensure efficient vehicle repairs?

As an Automotive Technical Service Advisor, you’ll serve as the primary liaison between customers and the service department. You’ll communicate customer concerns clearly to technicians, translate technical information into understandable terms for customers, and keep both parties updated on repair progress. Strong collaboration skills are essential, as you’ll often coordinate schedules, clarify repair orders, and ensure all recommendations are authorized before work begins.
