Job description

WHAT YOU DO AT AMD CHANGES EVERYTHING

At AMD, our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences—from AI and data centers, to PCs, gaming and embedded systems. Grounded in a culture of innovation and collaboration, we believe real progress comes from bold ideas, human ingenuity and a shared passion to create something extraordinary. When you join AMD, you’ll discover the real differentiator is our culture. We push the limits of innovation to solve the world’s most important challenges—striving for execution excellence, while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond.  Together, we advance your career.

The Role:
AMD’s Embedded Business unit is looking for a Senior PM - Automotive IVI SW and Solutions for the exciting role of owning and driving the execution of business-critical SW programs.

The Person:
As a Senior Software Program Manager, you will own the planning and execution of complex software programs that deliver SDKs, software suites, and integrated software solutions enabling new SoC product launches for key customers in the Automotive Infotainment (IVI) segment. You will drive endtoend software release execution by partnering closely with silicon design, platform product management, software development, performance benchmarking, validation/QA, and applications engineering teams. You will build and leverage strong relationships with senior engineering and management stakeholders, to report progress, align on critical topics, influence priorities, and drive softwarerelated action items to closure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive software program execution for strategic IVI platforms, ensuring SDKs, software suites, and integrated SW solutions meet scope, quality, and schedule commitments aligned with hardware milestones.
  • Lead crossfunctional release planning for SDKs and integrated software stacks (features, target platforms, OS support, toolchains, reference applications) with software architects, product management, and OEM/Tier1 customers.
  • Define, maintain, and own software program plans and release roadmaps, including dependencies on silicon, boards, firmware, BSPs, middleware, applications, safety/security components, and ecosystem partners.
  • Drive coordinated release readiness for Automotive IVI software through core team meetings
  • Report overall software execution and release status at senior leadership level and clearly communicate schedule changes, critical issues, and risks, along with mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve lightweight, standardized SW execution and release processes (e.g., integration gates, release criteria, defect triage, branching/labeling, release documentation) that scale across IVI programs.
  • Lead the prioritization and resolution of critical defects and integration issues, coordinating across BSP, drivers, middleware, applications, silicon/platform teams, and customer engineering organizations.
  • Manage and own softwarerelated escalations, setting up and running tiger teams, driving rootcause and corrective actions, and ensuring timely, transparent communication to all stakeholders.
  • Facilitate closure of complex, crosscompany issues and dependencies involving AMD teams, Automotive OEMs/Tier1s, and ecosystem partners (OS vendors, middleware providers, tool vendors).
  • Align IVI software roadmaps (SDKs, reference stacks, integrated solutions) with AMD’s technology roadmaps (SoCs, GPUs, AI accelerators, connectivity, and platform features); lead migration strategies for customers on prior generations.
  • Support predesignwin and postdesignwin activities for strategic Automotive accounts by providing credible software roadmaps, schedules, and feature commitments; coordinate early SDKs, evaluation kits, and reference demos.

Preferred Experience:

  • Extensive experience leading largescale software programs for SoCbased systems, ideally in Automotive IVI (e.g., Android Automotive, Linux, Xen, QNX, or adjacent embedded domains).
  • Strong background in the software development lifecycle for SDKs and application frameworks, including integration and release engineering.
  • Proven ability to leverage AI-driven automation tools to optimize program delivery, including the streamlining of requirements management and cross-functional reporting to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Proven ability to drive multiple concurrent strategic programs, managing competing priorities across customers, platforms, and product lines.
  • Solid understanding of SoC architectures and common IP blocks (CPU, GPU, display, audio, connectivity, safety/security IP) and their implications for software enablement and performance.
  • Demonstrated experience with program metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting, and familiarity with budget, headcount, and resource planning.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, capable of aligning diverse stakeholders—from engineers to executives—around complex technical and schedule decisions.
  • Comfortably operating in a large, matrixed organization, achieving results through influence, leadership, and escalation management rather than direct authority.
  • Selfstarter with strong ownership and leadership qualities, energized by fastpaced, ambiguous environments and aggressive Automotive schedules.
  • Track record of delivering endtoend program outcomes from inception through production.
  • Experience defining program scope, success criteria, and KPIs in collaboration with architects, systems engineers, and business leaders, and using data to steer the program.
  • Primary owner for clear, concise messaging of software status, risks, and decisions to internal and external senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, including structured risk management, scenario planning, and datadriven decision making.

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 12+ years of relevant experience in software program management, software development, or embedded systems.
