Job description

Devan Lowe Cadillac-Buick-GMC-Lincoln is looking for an experienced GM (Cadillac Buick GMC Chevrolet) technician to join our growing, team-oriented, family-owned business.

Job Description:

As a seasoned and experienced GM Technician, you will be expected to diagnose and repair GMC/Buick/Cadillac/Chevrolet as well as other retired GM Brand vehicles using a variety of computerized and diagnostic tools while upholding the highest ethical standards. Additionally, you will mentor and help develop younger apprentice technicians.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Conferring with service advisors and occasionally customers regarding vehicle concerns, diagnosis, and recommended service or repairs

- Examining/inspecting vehicles using appropriate diagnostic procedures and/or road testing to determine causes of vehicle concerns as well as other recommended services based on vehicle age, mileage, and condition

- Contacting factory technical assistance as needed to complete diagnosis and repair of vehicles

- Adequately and completely note/document cause and correction statement on repair order hard copy as well as time punch time on/off in accordance with factory guidelines

- Mentor and assist younger apprentice technicians to help them develop into productive technicians

- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness in work area and perform all work with safety for yourself and others around you in mind

Job Requirements:

- Prefer at least 5+ years of experience as a GM Dealership Automotive Service Technician

- Uphold high ethical standards and follow federal, state, local regulation with regard to safety and environmental protection

- Must have valid driver's license, acceptable background check, and drug free

- Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining high level of customer service

- Must supply own general tools (special/job specific tools and equipment provided by dealership)

- Must be actively pursuing or already maintaining 100% GM training in required fields/categories

- Must be able to stand, bend, squat, reach and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis while diagnosing and working on vehicles
