Job Summary: The Social Media and Communications Specialist will help evolve and strengthen The Shop, a B2B eCommerce platform serving automotive dealers.

This is a highly hands-on role responsible for executing social media strategy, building brand awareness, creating and managing content, and supporting communications and PR initiatives. The specialist will drive awareness and engagement with The Shop website and support dealer enrollment efforts across multiple channels.

The ideal candidate thrives in a startup or early-stage environment, enjoys identifying untapped opportunities, and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. This individual should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, creating content, managing social channels, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, and measuring results.

The Shop operates around three core principles:

The primary focus of this role will be social media strategy and execution, including managing the content calendar, creating and publishing organic content, coordinating content from multiple sources, and reporting social media performance to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Content

  • Execute social media strategy across multiple channels, including LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and other relevant platforms.
  • Create, schedule, publish, and repost engaging organic social media content.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive social media content calendar.
  • Source, curate, and repurpose content from internal teams, vendors, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop new content and identify opportunities to increase brand awareness, engagement, and dealer adoption.
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform algorithms, and emerging content formats.
  • Maintain an authentic, trusted, and consistent brand voice across all platforms.

Brand, Communications & PR

  • Continue refining and executing the social media strategy within the broader marketing plan.
  • Develop and refine brand messaging and communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Write, edit, and proofread marketing and communications content across multiple channels.
  • Support communications and PR initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and positioning across social media, marketing, communications, and customer-facing channels.

Content Development

  • Manage content creation for Community pages and other digital properties.
  • Coordinate and consolidate content from vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage webinars, white papers, one-pagers, newsletters, case studies, videos, educational materials, training materials, and other content.
  • Determine the most effective channels and tactics to amplify content across digital and social media properties.

Marketing, Events & Promotions

  • Support social media, communications, PR, and marketing initiatives as needed.
  • Support the planning and promotion of key activities, offers, events, dealer meetings, and trade shows.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, agencies, and other partners to execute campaigns and initiatives.

Analytics & Performance

  • Track and report social media and content performance metrics to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop actionable recommendations to improve reach, engagement, conversions, and dealer enrollment.
  • Continuously optimize content and social media tactics based on performance insights.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 5+ years of marketing experience, including social media, communications, events, and/or PR.
  • Experience working in a startup, early-stage organization, new brand launch, or brand refresh environment.
  • Experience developing and executing social media strategies and content.
  • Experience creating and managing content across multiple audiences and communication channels.
  • Automotive marketing experience, particularly with dealer-focused products, services, or solutions, is preferred.
  • Experience in eCommerce and/or B2B marketing is strongly preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of social media platforms, trends, best practices, and algorithms.
  • Strong knowledge of LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and other major social platforms.
  • Experience with social media management, scheduling, reporting, and analytics tools.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, copywriting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop compelling messaging for different audiences and channels.
  • Experience with content creation tools and graphic design platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate performance data into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience with dealer solutions, automotive software, or automotive retail technology is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a high-performing team.
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, integrity, and a positive "can-do" attitude.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Strategy, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
