Job description

Performance Driven Workforce is now hiring Full Time Senior Automotive Mechanics for an Automotive Tier 1 Supplier. Senior Automotive Mechanics will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Senior Automotive Mechanic will mentor and oversee team members’ technical deliverables to ensure customer standards are met. This Full Time Senior Automotive Mechanic position is based out of Livonia, MI. Candidates meeting the requirements for the Senior Automotive Mechanic position below are strongly encouraged to apply. AM Day shift + Overtime available.
Shift:
  • AM Day shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm (Monday – Friday, weekends as needed)

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections
  • Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
  • Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customers
  • Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
  • Lead daily shop organization and clean-up

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience as a Mechanic
  • Must have own tools with rolling toolbox
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train others
  • Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures
Preferred Skills:
  • Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
  • State Mechanic Certification(s)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancer
  • Ability to work overtime as needed including the weekends
