Senior Business Development Manager – Mexico (Automotive Tier 1)

El Paso, TX (Remote/Home Office) with significant travel across Northern Mexico


Reporting To

Vice President of Engineering and Transportation Sales


Position Overview

The Senior Business Development Manager will lead growth initiatives across Northern Mexico, with a primary focus on developing and expanding relationships with Aptiv and key Tier 1 automotive suppliers. This role is responsible for building and converting a $30–40M qualified opportunity pipeline by identifying, developing, and winning new business within engineering-driven organizations.

Based in the El Paso region, this position operates at the intersection of commercial execution and technical engagement. The role requires the ability to sell complex electromechanical solutions to engineering, procurement, and operations stakeholders. The individual will collaborate closely with U.S.-based account managers to align on global account strategy while driving regional execution in Mexico.


Key Responsibilities

Mexico Market Growth

· Develop and execute a Mexico-focused growth strategy targeting Aptiv and Tier 1, 2, 3 suppliers across Chihuahua, Juarez, Northern Mexico, and Central Mexico.

· Identify and penetrate new business opportunities within existing and target accounts

· Build strong relationships with engineering, procurement, and plant-level decision-makers


Pipeline Development & Sales Execution

· Build and manage a $30–40M qualified opportunity pipeline

· Drive full sales cycle from prospecting through award and launch

· Lead commercial negotiations to secure profitable business aligned with company objectives


Technical Sales Engagement

· Engage engineering teams to position electromechanical components and solutions

· Translate customer technical requirements into commercial opportunities

· Partner with internal engineering and applications teams to deliver tailored solutions


Account & Cross-Functional Alignment

· Collaborate with Detroit-based account managers to align on global OEM and Tier 1 strategies

· Ensure consistency in pricing, positioning, and customer communication across regions

· Coordinate with internal teams including engineering, operations, and customer service


Market Intelligence

· Monitor automotive and EV market trends across Mexico

· Identify competitor activity, sourcing shifts, and new program opportunities

· Provide actionable insights to leadership and internal teams


Success Metrics

Success in this role will be measured by:

· Development of a $30–40M qualified pipeline within the first 12 months

· New business wins within key accounts (e.g., Aptiv and Tier 1 suppliers)

· Expansion of product adoption within Mexico-based engineering teams

· Conversion rate from opportunity to awarded business


Qualifications

Core Capabilities

· Proven ability to sell technical or electromechanical products into engineering-driven organizations

· Demonstrated success building and converting multi-million-dollar sales pipelines ($20M+)

· Strong commercial acumen with the ability to navigate complex sales cycles


Experience

· Typically 5–12+ years of experience in technical sales, business development, or account management
