PennEngineering is seeking a motivated, excited, individual to be a part of our PEM Sales Team. As the Business Development Manager covering the three-metro area of Texas driving the datacom, Telecom and Consumer markets, you'll collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and directing the business development activities for OEM accounts within the datacom and telecom customers space as well as leading/guiding the engineering efforts necessary to support these business development activities. This will be accomplished through relationships with the customer base, knowing the product opportunities, and becoming the engineering focal point for the assigned customers. In addition, he/she support the various brand strategies, including the support of the new product development projects that apply to the automotive market. This position requires significant experience in growing business within multiple industry OEMs and design responsible tiers through engineering development activities and customer relationships.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Manage the engineering relationships and direct activities at assigned customers for existing and new opportunities.
  • Focus on new business development and the creation of a consistent pipeline.
  • Drive design wins with OEMs and Tier customers through strategic engineering collaboration.
  • Actively prospect and expand the PennEngineering footprint within targeted accounts.
  • Manage multiple complex opportunities and projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Direct the application engineering activities within the assigned customers to ensure that a tangible return on investment exists.
  • Maintain a team approach with the Key Account Manager and Applications Engineer at assigned customers.
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by bridging the gap between Business Development, Key Account Management, Operations, Engineering, and Marketing.
  • Develop account plans for major accounts that include relationship matrices and document design cycles of the major OEMs.
  • Work closely with Marketing and the brand leaders to ensure that business development efforts are in line with the strategy.
  • Coordinate engineering projects with the global sales and engineering teams as appropriate.
  • Develop customer development roadmaps for assigned customers that outline the implementation plan for the various products in our portfolio.
  • Understand competitor company profiles and product lines at assigned customers.
  • Work closely with New Product Development to ensure key attributes are incorporated on potential developments of automotive focused products as well as products with cross market capability.
  • Maintain awareness of and compliance with company policy and safety standards in performance of all job duties.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • 3+ years developing Datacom/Telecom/Consumer Electronics business is required
  • 5+ years of experience in customer relationship development and management.
  • 5+ years of experience of proven business development at OEM customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop market penetration plans and roadmaps
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • In territory travel 50%.
