Your role

Compensation: Base salary range $60,000 to $72,000, plus monthly commission, annual bonus potential and monthly automobile allowance; potential 1st year earnings - up $120K 

Home Based - Rock Hill, SC (Flexible/Hybrid)

Due to ongoing ambitious growth plans, MSS Group wish to recruit a Sales & Business Development Manager. Ideally currently working in the laser cutting, sheet metal working machinery or compressed gas industry in a similar role. Good knowledge and experience of working with new and existing end users and distribution partners selling medium to high value capital equipment sales is a must. A technical/engineering background is highly desirable. Detailed product training and support will be given.

Reporting to the VP of Sales, working from a home base or from our Rock Hill offices, the role will require business development and sales work to help spearhead our North American expansion plans.

The role includes the sale of MSS's complete portfolio of equipment including Nitrogen Generation systems; High Pressure Gas Mixers, High pressure laser gas filtration systems and laser gas flow monitoring equipment.

Typical sales values $5k to over $500k.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:- Sales & Business Development (75%)

  • Develop, implement and regularly review an agreed sales strategy with the VP of Sales to maximize business results and secure sales in line with targets.
  • Sales management & development of existing end user & distributor accounts
  • Seek out and develop new key distribution partners and end users in agreed key target areas.
  • Managing customer machine demonstrations at MSS premises/end user sites when required.
  • Represent the company with sales support at industry related exhibitions and conferences.
  • Region wide travel.
  • Providing detailed, clear technical guidance, sales presentations and documentation to potential end user customers and distributors.
  • Distributor & end user sales negotiating and closing.
  • Meet or exceed agreed sales & growth targets through intensive & targeted sales efforts.
  • Management of MSS CRM North American contacts and communications.
  • Input for regular marketing support.
  • Maximize company resources and profits.
  • Communicate effectively and politely with personnel in all company departments.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:- CRM Reporting (15%)

  • Prepare monthly reports to show market trends, business development results, competitor activity, sales forecasts, and prospecting activity.
  • Prepare forecasts and track orders for MSS products monthly.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:- Market Analysis (5%)

  • Continuously pursue knowledge and understanding of economic trends and news that may affect the compressed air business. Report such activity to the VP of Sales.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:- Personal Development (5%)

  • Maintain the latest product knowledge and sales/marketing skills through continued training and development.
To succeed, you will need

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Track record of business development with end users and distributor networks.
  • Experience of selling capital equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Results oriented with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Able to work flexible hours with some time staying away from home as required.
  • Self-disciplined 'hunter gatherer' personality with a strong ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Location flexible but ideally within reach of MSS Offices & transport hubs.
  • Full driving licence

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in the laser cutting, sheet metal working and or compressed gas industries.
  • 5 years capital sales experience.
  • Strong IT literacy and ability especially with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Knowledge of effective sales use of social media such as Linkedin.
  • Engineering qualification is advantageous.
