Job description

Job Overview:ย ย ย This positionย is responsible forย assistingย withย Fleet Operations and Maintenance and reports to the Branch Manager.ย 

Keyย Responsibilities:ย 

  • Assistย an experienced automotive mechanic service and repair of all fleet vehicles.
  • Drive automatic vehicles for testing, transfer, and pick-up/delivery of parts.
  • Perform inventory and order parts, supplies, as needed.ย 
  • Clean work area.ย 

Primaryย Requirements:ย 

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of lube & oil.
  • Possession of validย driverโ€™s license for at least 3 years and ability to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles from 2,000 toย 50,000 lbs. in size.
  • Minimum of twoย years of experience conducting or managing light utility or truck repair and maintenance or a graduate from a reputable trade school.
  • Clean driving recordย 

Skills and Qualifications:ย 

  • Knowledge ofย fleet, automotive, or truck vehicle maintenance.ย 
  • Operational knowledge of diesel equipment and tools normally associated with theย troubleshooting and repairs of gasoline and diesel truck equipment.
  • Knowledge of truck electrical and air-conditioning systems.
  • Knowledge of International Series medium-duty truck (Preferred).
  • Ability to read and understand technical service manuals, repair orders, labels, and gauges (in English).
  • Ability to write service orders.
  • Ability to communicate verbally (in English) using telephone for ordering parts and supplies.
  • Computer usage and basic data entry.
  • Strong communicationย and teamwork skills.ย 

Working Conditions:ย 

  • Work is performed in aย semi-enclosed structure and outdoors.ย The environmentย involves chemical handling, gasoline/dieselย fumes,ย and intermittent high noise exposure.
  • Possible exposureย to gasoline/diesel fumes.
  • Exposed to wet and dry conditions in extreme heat and/or cold.
  • Full-time schedule consists of an average ofย 40 hoursย per week for a 5-day period.ย
