Brief Description

Our Automation & Digitalization division is currently seeking an experienced Class A Project Manager who leads our automation and electrification for capital projects. This person has a solid understanding of automation and electrification technologies, excellent project management skills, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients. In general, a Class A project is a high value project with considerable risks and challenges identified. Due to this, the responsibility of the Senior Project Manager to meet budget and maintain stakeholder satisfaction is key to the success of ANDRITZ in the automation and electrification market.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Lead automation and electrification projects from inception to completion, ensuring that project goals, timelines, and budgets are met.
    • For a Class A project, experienced technical design leads will be assigned according to the project execution plan presented by the Senior PM.
    • Project administration and financial control will be provided as it is required
    • Procurement assistance shall be provided to support the acquisition of equipment
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resourcing, including managing the procurement of necessary equipment and materials.
  • Define project objectives, scope, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders, including identifying opportunities for additional automation and electrification scope within the project.
  • Manage project risks and issues, including developing contingency plans and mitigating strategies, and communicating progress and challenges to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and supply chain, to ensure alignment and timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and senior leadership, including presenting project plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Mentor and coach junior project managers and team members on best practices and methodologies related to regional project management.
  • Drive continuous improvement of project management processes and tools, including identifying lessons learned and presenting them.
  • Assist with the development of proposals for Class A projects. All proposals shall set up a project to succeed by satisfying all key responsibilities detailed herein.

Qualifications (Required)

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related field, with a focus on automation and electrification technologies.
  • 8+ years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of delivering automation and electrification projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of automation and electrification technologies, including knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in project management tools, including MS Project, or equivalent
  • Experience in pulp & paper an asset;
  • Resourceful, self-managed, and goal driven but still able to work effectively in a team;
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (English);
  • Practical knowledge of North American standards;
  • Legally entitled to work in the USA;
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%).
