Job description

  • Lead and manage large-scale automation capital projects from concept through commissioning, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination
  • Serve as technical lead for automation investments supporting flooring production processes
  • Design, develop, integrate, program, and validate PLC-, HMI-, and SCADA-based automation systems and industrial networks
  • Develop automation solutions for continuous processes, recipe management, changeovers, and product traceability
  • Standardize control architectures, hardware, and software across plants
  • Optimize manufacturing equipment and improve OEE, throughput, yield, energy efficiency, and scrap reduction
  • Integrate drives, servo motion, vision, robotics, material handling, MES, quality systems, and plant utilities
  • Analyze process data and implement closed-loop control strategies
  • Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, and production ramp-up activities
  • Conduct risk assessments, machine safety evaluations, and safety validations
  • Manage project budgets, suppliers, OEMs, integrators, vendors, and technical scope
  • Implement quality control measures and maintain engineering documentation, software standards, version control, and change management
  • Train operations and maintenance teams and mentor junior automation engineers and technicians
  • Provide expert troubleshooting, preventive maintenance strategies, and root cause analysis for automation issues
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field)
  • 7+ years of direct automation experience executing capital projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Preferably experience within flooring, building materials, or continuous processing industries
  • Advanced proficiency with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, industrial networks, motion control, and robotics
  • Proven experience leading projects from concept through commissioning in live production environments
  • Experience with high-speed flooring processes such as extrusion, coating, curing ovens, cutting, and finishing lines
  • Familiarity with MES integration, production data systems, and quality tracking
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety standards and risk assessment methodologies
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
