Scope of Work:

The Building Automation Controls Manager leads the integration of existing Building Automation System (BAS) interfaces with a multi-site Emergency Communication System (ECS) and Mass Notification System (MNS) modernization program. Working with project teams, BAS vendors, and Government stakeholders, this role ensures compatible building displays and monitoring systems are successfully integrated to support enterprise emergency notification capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical assessment of existing Building Automation System (BAS) interfaces supporting emergency messaging capabilities.
  • Coordinate integration between BAS-connected monitors, displays, and the enterprise Mass Notification System.
  • Identify compatible building systems and recommend integration approaches based on existing infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with BAS vendors, system integrators, engineering teams, and Government stakeholders throughout implementation.
  • Review existing BAS architecture, interface documentation, and control system configurations to support ECS/MNS integration.
  • Support design reviews, testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities related to BAS integration.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues between BAS interfaces, network infrastructure, and mass notification platforms.
  • Ensure integration activities minimize disruption to existing building operations.
  • Support documentation, as-built drawings, interface control documents, and technical deliverables.
  • Participate in system testing, emergency notification exercises, and operational readiness reviews.
  • Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience supporting Building Automation Systems (BAS), Building Management Systems (BMS), or industrial control system integration.
  • Experience integrating BAS interfaces with enterprise monitoring, control, or notification systems.
  • Experience supporting complex federal, healthcare, laboratory, higher education, or campus environments.
  • Working knowledge of BAS communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, OPC.
  • Experience coordinating with controls contractors, systems integrators, and network engineering teams.
  • Understanding of IP networking concepts supporting BAS integrations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with work order systems.ย 
  • Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Trane, Alerton, or Automated Logic BAS platforms.
  • Experience integrating Building Automation Systems with emergency communications or Mass Notification Systems.
  • Familiarity with Everbridge, Alertus, Singlewire InformaCast, Eaton, OnSolve, or similar MNS platforms.
  • Experience supporting healthcare, laboratory, or CDC/NIH/VA/DoD facilities.
  • NICET, CCST, or manufacturer BAS certifications.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with periodic travel to customer and project sites.
  • Must be able to conduct field visits, navigate active work environments, and work extended hours as required to support mission needs.
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
