What You'll Bring to the Role:
- Associate degree or higher in Automation Technology, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or a related technical field; equivalent field experience considered.
- Minimum of 3 years supporting industrial automation systems within oil and gas, petrochemical, or manufacturing industries.
- Proven experience programming, troubleshooting, and supporting PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, or similar).
- Skilled in SCADA systems, HMI development, and industrial networking protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC, and DNP3.
- Deep understanding of instrumentation, process controls, and automation architecture.
- Ability to interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, P&IDs, and control narratives.
- Strong problem-solving skills coupled with excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in upstream oil and gas production operations.
- Familiarity with SCADA platforms like Ignition, Wonderware, CygNet, or AVEVA.
- Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with wireless communication systems, remote telemetry, and radio systems.
- ISA or other relevant automation certifications.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline is preferred.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience supporting automation in a field environment with exposure to the demanding conditions of oil and gas facilities.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel frequently across various field sites including well sites, compressor stations, and central facilities.
- Ability to work safely around operating industrial equipment in outdoor environments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical inspections as needed.
- Availability to participate in a 14 on / 14 off rotational schedule.
