Job description

Overview

Our client is seeking a Field Installation Manager to support high-volume commercial door and gate service operations across the Greater Sacramento area. This is a hands-on, field-driven role focused on troubleshooting, estimating, scheduling, and supporting installation crews.

This is a newly created position designed to alleviate workload from leadership and improve field efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong service-based experience (not just new installs) and can confidently manage multiple jobs, crews, and customer needs in real time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations across 10–20 active service jobs
  • Troubleshoot issues in the field and remotely support technicians by phone
  • Run service estimates and scope job requirements
  • Coordinate and schedule 1–2 person installation/service crews
  • Source parts, materials, and equipment needed for repairs and installs
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to keep projects moving
  • Support compliance with safety and industry standards (ADA, fire code, etc.)
  • Partner closely with leadership during a 6-month training period

Required Experience

  • Strong background in commercial door and gate service/installation
  • Experience with a majority of the following systems:

    • Automatic doors (SIG or similar)
    • Storefront doors
    • Hollow metal doors
    • Solid core/wood doors
    • Overhead doors
    • Dock equipment
    • Gates and gate operators
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues in the field
  • Experience running estimates and coordinating service work
  • Comfortable managing multiple jobs and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across all listed door and gate systems
  • Prior leadership or crew supervision experience
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and safety regulations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
