Waterjet Operator / Fabrication Specialist

What we expect of you as a Waterjet Operator / Fabrication Specialist:

Hamrick Packaging Systems is seeking a motivated and skilled Waterjet Operator / Fabrication Specialist to help launch and operate our new CNC Waterjet cutting system.

This is more than a machine operator position. We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership of a critical manufacturing process, help shape a new capability within our organization, and become our in-house Waterjet expert.

What you will do as our Waterjet Operator / Fabrication Specialist:

  • Operate and maintain a CNC Waterjet cutting system.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Prepare and nest parts for production.
  • Verify part quality and dimensional accuracy.
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Stockroom, Purchasing, and Production teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve fabrication efficiency and throughput.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating CNC equipment, Waterjet systems, laser cutters, machining centers, routers, or similar manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environments.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Working standing up for long periods of time.
  • Lifting a minimum of 30lbs.
  • Reading, writing, and comprehending written plans in English.
  • Reading a tape measure and understanding fine measurements ie. 32nds and 64ths of an inch.
  • Knowing sheet metal tools and equipment.
  • Presenting on-site to complete job.
