Job description

Title: Logistician (contingent 034)
Location: APG, MD
  • Perform automated Logistical Specialist tasks primarily related to supervising and performing management or warehouse functions in order to maintain equipment records and parts.
  • Establish and maintain stock records and other documents, such as inventory, material control, accounting and supply reports.
  • Review and verify quantities received against bills of contracts, purchase requests and shipping documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
  • Unload, unpack, count, segregate, palletize and store incoming supplies and equipment in accordance with prescribed storage methods; rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage; removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
  • Ensure supplies and equipment are stored correctly for each type of product.
  • Construct bins, shelving and other storage aids.
  • Simplify and standardize the collection and use of maintenance data.
  • Raise the quality and accuracy of performance, cost and parts data through improved maintenance management.
  • Operate the Global Combat Support System-Army, a logistics system used to track supplies, organizational equipment and spare parts

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • A secret security clearance is required.
