Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Design Drafter to join our innovative engineering design team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse projects, utilizing advanced CAD software and drafting techniques to bring visions to life with clarity and precision.

Duties

  • Develop detailed 2D drawings and maps using CAD software such as AutoCAD 2D
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor a plus
  • Create accurate schematics, layouts, and technical illustrations for construction plans, mechanical systems, or infrastructure designs.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to interpret design concepts and translate them into comprehensive drawings.
  • Prepare detailed documentation including annotations, dimensions, material specifications, and assembly instructions aligned with project standards.
  • Review design drafts for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry codes and regulations before final approval.
  • Coordinate with other Designers, Drafters and Managers

Skills

  • Two to Five years AutoCAD experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (AutoCAD aptitude test required)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and drafting standards across various engineering disciplines. (Mechanical, Electrical or Structural)
  • Experience creating schematics, technical drawings, and construction documents with precision.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and how drafting supports project development from concept through completion.
  • Ability to produce clear 2D designs
  • Redline designs if applicable
  • Make modifications to Autocad Designs
  • Field work as needed
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with active problem-solving skills to troubleshoot design issues early in the process.
