Job Purpose

As a member of Fix Auto's production team, you will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality product and superior service.


Position Summary

The auto body technician is responsible for performing efficient repairs to clients' vehicles while holding safety and a manufacturer level of quality to the highest regard. In the course of your duties, you will use the tools and materials provided along with the training received to return the client's vehicle back to pre loss condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing all repairs assigned on the work order
  • Complete 100% disassembly of vehicle at the beginning of the repair
  • Work with repair planning to confirm damages and complete supplement
  • Confirm all parts are correct and undamaged while working with parts technician
  • Cover openings and protect interior from dust and damage
  • Utilize parts carts for storage while following parts cart SOP
  • Ensure all straightening and repairs are completed to OEM specs and companystandards
  • Work with Production Manager to confirm priorities throughout the day
  • Fill out and sign QC checklist confirming it is followed
  • Use equipment properly and in a way that promotes safety for yourself and others
  • Collaborate effectively with paint department to achieve efficient vehicle flow
  • Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude with managers and fellow employees
  • Be a mentor to less experienced technicians
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum 3rd year auto body apprentice
  • Journeyperson certificate preferred
  • Proven ability to thrive and collaborate in a high volume, fast paced shop environment
  • A "customer first" mindset dedicated to providing exceptional service
  • Highly detail oriented with a commitment to superior workmanship
  • Self motivated with a proactive approach to continuous learning and improvement
  • Class 5 drivers license with acceptable driving abstract


Working Conditions

  • Employees may be required to work in potentially hazardous environments requiring personal protective equipment
  • Employees may be exposed to dust, hazardous chemicals and high levels of noise
  • Employees may be required to stand for extended periods of time and crouch, stoop or sit frequently
