ESCONDIDO AUTO PARK EXPRESS WASH

The Carwash Cashier/ Attendant’s primary duties include assisting customers with their purchases from the Carwash, Mini-Mart and Gas Station. Providing the customers with a positive and friendly experience, as well as properly maneuvering customer vehicles through the Escondido Auto Park Express Wash ensuring vehicles are cleaned to company specifications, standards and time allowances.

Employees in this position will be paid a base hourly rate of applicable minimum wage ($16.90/ Hr).

Responsibilities Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: (other duties may be assigned)

Carwash Cashier responsibilities:

• Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.

• Registers sales on a cash register by scanning items, itemizing, and totaling customers’ purchases.

• Resolve customer issues and answers questions.

• Bags customer purchases if needed, and processes return transactions.

• Itemizes and totals purchases by recording prices, departments, taxable and nontaxable items; and operating a cash register.

• Enters price changes by referring to price sheets and special sale bulletins.

• Redeem coupons for discounts on purchases.

• Collects payments by accepting cash, check, or charge payments from customers and makes change for cash customers.

• Verifies credit acceptance by reviewing and recording driver’s license number; and operating credit card authorization systems.

• Balances cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift.

• Provides pricing information by answering questions.

• Ensures stock is sufficient and creates a positive shopping experience for the customers.

• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Carwash Attendant responsibilities:

• Monitors functionality of car wash machinery and equipment.

• Properly maneuver customer vehicles through the Car Wash according to manufacturer specifications.

• Inspects vehicle for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery.

• Restoring using appropriate materials.

• Applies special-purpose cleaner to remove foreign materials.

• Operates all tools in a safe manner by using proper eye, hand & body protection.

• Reports any safety issues immediately to management.

• Maintains checkout operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.

• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications

• Friendly and positive attitude

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Cash handling experience.

• Basic math skills

• Must be available to work weekends and holidays

• Strong attention to detail.

• Clean driving record.

•  Accepts constructive criticism with motivation towards improvement on job performance.

• Understanding of Safety Rules & Practices as well as posted work rules & procedures.

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.

• Ability to exercise good judgment.

• Valid CA driver’s license and  clean driving record.
