To thrive as an Authentication Specialist, you need a solid understanding of authentication protocols, identity access management, and network security, often supported by a degree in computer science or related certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP. Familiarity with tools like Active Directory, SAML, OAuth, and multi-factor authentication systems is typically required. Authentication Specialists may also assist in training staff on secure practices and troubleshooting authentication-related issues.
