Job description

Position Description:

The Degree Audit Coordinator provides support to students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Valparaiso University from within the Registrar department. The Degree Audit Coordinator must maintain a high level of accuracy in academic records, provide excellent customer service to a diverse constituency, and learn to use university technology at an advanced level for the benefit of students, alumni, faculty, staff, and other members of the Valpo community. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

The hourly rate for this position is $15.60 per hour.

Major Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the Degree Audit Coordinator include:

  • Updating student profiles related to a change in program, major, or minor
  • Programming graduation requirements from the catalog into the student information system
  • Programming curriculum tracks that are used to make 4-year study plans
  • Communicating with students and advisors regarding graduation requirements
  • Providing diplomas to graduates
  • Assisting students with the Graduation Application
  • Other duties to support the Assistant Registrar overseeing graduation

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree and relevant experience preferred, but not required.
  • On-the-job training is provided. Relevant work experience preferred.

Other Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be able to prioritize and work quickly, especially during the times of each semester when we see peaks in the number of requests for support.
  •  Attention to detail and accuracy are essential, especially during our busiest times.
