Job description

Job Title: Educator-RN
Department: Nursing Education
Location: Canton-Potsdam Hospital
Hours Per Week: 40 scheduled weekly hours
Schedule: 8-hour days, 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday schedule with some nights and weekends as needed
SUMMARY: As a Registered Nurse - Educator, your in-depth knowledge and outstanding communication skills are key in fostering quality care, enhanced wellness and ongoing growth and development throughout Rochester Regional.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Evaluation. Identify and validate the learning needs of customers by utilizing needs assessments, CQI results, performance improvement results, customer surveys and course evaluation results; document the effectiveness of educational offerings by developing, monitoring and assessing competencies; analyze cost to maximize the efficient utilization of resources
  • Development. Create educational programs and curriculum that promote quality healthcare, employee/patient growth and personal wellness; provide leadership in areas of expertise as a resource to the customer; develop communications and audio-visual materials that are clear and concise
  • Implementation. Facilitate programs to meet the identified learning needs of our customers; provide in-depth orientation, in-service and continuing education for staff or patients

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be currently registered and licensed by NYS as a registered professional nurse.
  • Bachelor's degree required in nursing, health education, or instructional development or an equivalent combination of education and healthcare related work experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 1 year prior training/teaching experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Three years prior training/teaching experience in related educational field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE:
$76,500.00 - $105,000.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
