Job description

Join the MDM team as an Audio Visual Event Technician!


Who we are! MDM Entertainment, located in Schaumburg, Illinois, is a full-fledged event production company, providing audio-visual services, staging, lighting, DJs, photo booths, furniture, drape and decor that services the suburban and Chicago area.


Position: Audio Visual Event Technician


Previous experience in the special event AV industry required.

Shift:

This is a Part-Time position including Saturdays and evenings.


What will you do.. You will assist with the setup, operation and striking of equipment for corporate, social and special events. Including delivery of equipment to and from the event location.


Responsibilities:

Audio Visual Technician

  • Providing strong customer service to all clients and staff. Including in person events or via phone or email.
  • Actively coordinate week-of event logistics with the Talent Coordinator and/or Production Manager.
  • Ensure timely set up of equipment at all events including break down.
  • Actively review lighting designs, sound, and video requirements to ensure all necessary equipment has been prepared.
  • Ability to properly install all equipment not limited to audio systems, video systems, pipe and drape and all other decor based on event needs.
  • Ensuring all equipment, ladders and trash are collected following time requirements before the event.
  • Making sure all equipment and props are returned back to the warehouse.


Requirements:

  • Strong work ethic, adapts to companies mission, policies and procedures, adaptable, can work as a team or independent.
  • Available to work weekends and evenings.
  • Ability to lift, carry or pull 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to work with heights and use of ladders.
  • Hold basic understanding and experience as an Audio Visual Event Technician.
  • Hold understanding of electrical safety and understanding of the installation and operation of equipment.
  • Hold a valid Driver's License, insurance and driving work vans, comfortable driving box trucks.
  • Comfortable presenting and demonstrating with equipment.
  • Comfortable speaking and planning course events or activities.
  • Handling technician learning files throughout the course.
