Job description

Responsibilities & Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex AV, VTC, and collaboration system issues.
  • Provide operations and maintenance support for enterprise AV systems, executive conference rooms, briefing centers, and collaboration spaces.
  • Support scheduling, setup, and execution of meetings, presentations, and video teleconferences.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and control system issues affecting AV operations.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Coordinate with network, cybersecurity, facilities, and engineering teams to resolve integrated system problems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support approximately ten (10) conference rooms and meeting spaces.
  • Ensure conference rooms remain operational, secure, and mission ready.
  • Coordinate room scheduling and meeting support requirements as needed.
  • Support installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of AV and VTC systems.
  • Build, wire, label, and test equipment racks in accordance with engineering designs and industry standards.
  • Conduct bench testing and system validation prior to deployment.
  • Verify system functionality, signal flow, control programming, and interoperability between integrated components.
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and customer turnover activities.
  • Assist with technology refreshes, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
  • Support AV systems operating within secure government and classified environments.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and agency security requirements.
  • Verify secure operation of AV systems supporting Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) environments.
  • Ensure proper handling, transmission, and protection of classified and controlled information.
  • Support implementation of cybersecurity and information assurance requirements affecting AV systems.
  • Provide technical oversight during AV installation and modernization projects.
  • Review installation quality and ensure compliance with design specifications and customer requirements.
  • Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Support project documentation, punch-list resolution, and closeout activities.
  • Provide regular project and system status updates to management.
  • Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems, including:
  • Category 5e/6 cabling
  • Fiber optic cabling
  • HDMI, DVI, and DisplayPort connectivity
  • Audio and video transport systems
  • Control system infrastructure
  • Support deployment of audio conferencing, video conferencing, digital signage, distributed audio, and presentation systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting enterprise Audio Visual, Unified Communications, or Video Teleconferencing systems.
  • Experience supporting secure government, Department of Defense, or Intelligence Community environments.
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience with AV control systems, DSPs, video distribution, and conferencing technologies.
  • Experience with AV system integration, rack fabrication, testing, and commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of AV signal flow, networking fundamentals, and system interoperability.
  • Experience supporting:
  • Microsoft Teams Rooms
  • Cisco Codecs
  • Digital signage systems
  • Executive conference room technologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to read and interpret AV drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification.
  • Experience with Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Q-SYS, Shure, and ClearOne technologies.

Overview
We are seeking a Tier 3 Audio Visual Technician to join our team supporting the Space Development Agency. The Tier 3 Audio Visual (AV) Technician serves as a senior technical resource responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, integration, and lifecycle support of mission-critical audiovisual and video teleconferencing (VTC) systems supporting the Space Development Agency (SDA). This position provides advanced technical support for conference rooms, executive briefing spaces, secure collaboration environments, and specialized AV systems within classified and unclassified networks.
The successful candidate will support SDA conference rooms and collaboration spaces while providing engineering-level troubleshooting, system commissioning, installation and customer support. The role also requires participation in rack fabrication, system integration, testing, and deployment activities at the Springfield, Virginia integration facility and customer locations. Travel up to 25% may be required to support installation, commissioning, and sustainment activities.
