Job description

Position Overview
The Production Manager is responsible for managing project scope for a multi-venue, full production, or high impact event(s) with support from Project Managers, Production System Engineers, and Technical Directors. This position will monitor progress and performance against the project plan, identifying, resolving, and escalating operational problems while minimizing delays. This position is responsible for the end-to-end execution of projects from event design and development through post-show wrap up. The Production Manager will ensure successful and profitable execution of events by following Technical and Production Standards, supporting the implementation of processes and SOPs that drive consistency in event production, and optimizing deployment of production resources. The Production Manager will partner with Sales and Producers to identify and execute on growth opportunities for Accounts with Master Service Agreements and Multi-year contracts. The Production Manager will report to the Associate Director, Project Management.
Key Job Responsibilities
Event Management
• Prepare and communicate technical production & labor schedules, sub-rental requirements, project scope, execution plan and individual responsibilities to Producers, Customers, team members, vendors, and venue partners.
• Determine and secure the resources required to successfully complete each project.
• Monitor project scope throughout the event planning process and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
• Assist sales and operations teams to determine equipment needs and technical solutions for the project.
• Assist with the creation of technical diagrams when required.
• Review all sales documents to confirm that equipment and technical roster will meet the client's needs.
• Partner with Sales and Event Production to drive service excellence through consistent and repeatable execution by traveling with the customer events nationally.
• Provide leadership for Project Managers on events supported by multiple PM's.
• Partner with Production System Engineers and Technical Directors in the Plan the Work and Work the Plan phases on technical design and execution.
Production Management
• Serve as a strategic partner for the Account Owner and/or Producer to realize the customer vision from concept to execution.
• Maintain the global perspective of the account to ensure ongoing client satisfaction.
• Complete post-show event reports to document account intelligence with show teams on a per event basis.
• Responsible for managing Scope of Work by attending client meetings, creating, and maintaining detailed show documentation, and following the Production Process.
• Partner with Sales and Event Production on integration of new technology and services to enhance the attendee experience and drive new revenue streams.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing outstanding customer service while focusing on client retention.
Event Execution
• Assist in the creation, analysis, and execution of the project budget, partnering with event leadership to mitigate external workforce and sub-rental spend.
• Maintain alignment with budget and ensure all cost and onsite changes are communicated to the Sales Manager/Producer for billing purposes.
• Ensure final invoices are delivered and change orders are communicated to the Sales Manager/Producer post-event to assist with updating the client invoice.
• Ensure compliance with Encore Policies and Procedures to minimize exposure to liability claims, property damage, theft, and misappropriation.
Administrative
• Complete the Encore post-event process, to include the completion of all post-show reporting, confirming all workforce hours are accurately entered and ensuring that outsourced equipment is returned to the appropriate provider.
• Participate in the development of Project Management SOPs where appropriate.
• Conduct review and analysis of proposed events as required.
Job Qualifications
• BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in the corporate event or broadcast industry
• 3+ years in a Project Management role
• 3+ years Supervisory experience required
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong technical background
• Strong client relationship skills
• Experience with budgets and cost control
• Operational logistics experience
• Works well under pressure
• Ability to manage multiple complex job functions within a fast-paced environment
• MS Office experience required

Work Environment
Hotel
Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members will use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components and will be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Team members may be asked to work in multiple hotel locations. Working times will include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based on an individual hotel or a representation of hotels in that city or area. Travel up to 75%.
