Job description

Apprentice Audio Visual Installer – Full Time / On-Site

Iowa Audio Video is seeking full-time, on-site Audio Visual Installers. This position is ideal for individuals interested in building a long-term career in the audiovisual integration industry, whether entering the field as an apprentice or bringing prior AV installation experience.

The Audio Visual Installer will assist in the installation, configuration, and testing of commercial-grade audio, video, and sensory media systems. Responsibilities include installing AV equipment, running and terminating low-voltage cabling, mounting displays and associated hardware, troubleshooting system issues, and following system design documentation. The role also involves working closely with project managers and engineers to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Additional responsibilities may include providing basic system orientation to clients and maintaining clean, professional job sites.

Qualifications

Apprentice Candidates:
Candidates should demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn the AV trade. A basic understanding of hand tools, construction practices, or low-voltage systems is preferred. The ability to follow direction, work collaboratively as part of a team, and develop technical skills over time is essential. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, working on ladders and lifts, and maintaining a clean driving record.

Experienced Candidates:
Experienced candidates should possess prior experience in commercial audiovisual installation, low-voltage integration, structured cabling, or related technical fields. A working knowledge of commercial AV systems, including displays, projection systems, audio systems, video conferencing platforms, control systems, and network-based AV technologies is preferred.
