Job description
Hoar is recruiting qualified applicants for a BIM/VDCinternship who areseeking a degree in Building Design Sciences or a related field.
Responsibilities:
- Create supplemental models for use in MEP coordination efforts
- Support the pre-construction process by producing and adjusting models as required for constructability reviews, quantity take-offs, project scheduling, and cost estimates
- Create virtual mock-ups and other modeling activities
- Assist VDC team in project setup for 3D trade coordination, site logistical planning, and 4D sequencing
- Support VDC coordination kick-off meetings and subsequent meetings
- Assist MEP coordination by working with clash data from trade partner models
- Understand how to develop and maintain project coordination schedules
- Work with VDC staff to support laser scan services for project teams
- Support setup of VDC field equipment and software (total stations, laser scanner, UAVs)
- Support one to two VDC deliverables at a time with support from VDC staff
Requirements:
- Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Building Design Sciences or a related field
- Prior experience with Revit and Navisworks preferred
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Completed college freshman year
- Valid Driver's License required
