Job description

Purpose within the Organization:

The purpose of this position is to assist in the setup, operation and tear down of AV (Audio Video) equipment used in events occurring on campus.

This position has various shifts and high demand for availability. Candidates will need to have certain times and days available in order to qualify for this position.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

  • Support events throughout the main campus and 27th avenue locations.

  • Set-up and tear down of audio, video and lighting equipment at events around campus.

  • Operating audio, video and lighting equipment for events.

  • Assisting with cleaning and maintenance of AV equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Strong computer and organizational skills.

  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs individually, or 70 lbs team lift.

  • Ability to work with a variety of people.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.

  • Ability to handle stressful situations and think under pressure.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work a variety of hours - including evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to work all commencements in the spring and winter.

  • Positive and personable attitude.

Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.

  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.

  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
