Description

The GA position is designed to assist B.S. Music Production and B.S. Digital Media in recruiting. The goal is to grow each of the programs and this position will be instrumental in helping in that process, telling the story of who we are/what we do through connecting with prospective students in multiple ways.


Music Production covers a wide range of areas including: Live Audio, Studio Recording, Worship Arts, Commercial Music Performance and Audio Post Production while the Digital Media degree covers a wide range of work in video creation, video editing, graphic design, photography and other related areas. 


Music Production and Digital Media also overlap in a number of areas including audio post production, audio for video, live streaming (switching, camera work and post editing). Both areas primarily provide learning/training in direct hands-on, practical experience educational opportunities through class work and projects each week.


We are looking for assistance in getting the word out about who we are, what we have to offer and to connect with prospective students in each or any of these areas in order provide them with a great education, preparation for future employment as well as grow our programs.


Technically, this position does not need to be a musician or have digital media skills. While that is preferred, the main need is for someone to help with recruiting/marketing: to connect with prospective students and create interest towards the degrees and to work directly with the faculty in each area as a support.

  • Experience in recruiting. Energetic, honest, engaging, caring for future students well being. 
  • Self-Starter. Able to work as a team and independently
  • Skills in Digital Media such as familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (photoshop, Indesign, Premiere video editing) very helpful.
  • Ability to shoot and edit video to create products to 'tell the story' of what we do is important
  • Familiar with Social Media in connecting with students online
  • Able to create clean, professional looking marketing material helpful
  • Able to take direction and make it a reality
  • Detail oriented. Able to create organized layouts for trips and events.

This work will be done in person in meeting with students at schools or events created on campus. Connecting with students will also happen over the phone and through texting. Need to be familiar and comfortable with both areas.


The person in this position will work very closely with the program heads of both Digital Media and Music Production. They will also have the ability to work with students in all areas of the degrees to get assistance in video, audio, etc to assist in the creation of the final promotional product.


Travelling and connecting with outside schools will be a prominent part of the position. Must be able to work alone as well as with groups. As the person goes out, we can provide students from each of the areas to go with to assist in connections with the students.


This position will report to Gary Erickson, Music Production program director and will also work closely with Lisa Moon, Program director for Digital Media.
