Business Insider is hiring an Audience Development Manager  to join our Business Insider Live team to manage audience recruitment, development and curation across the BI Live Portfolio

The Role & Team:

As  Audience Development Manager, you will own the audience recruitment processes across platforms and will be responsible for all invite-only, apply to attend and general registration processes, delivering audiences that align with client and department goals. The Audience Development Manager will represent BI Live in person and will deliver white glove service across all attendee touchpoints. 

The Audience Development Manager reports directly to the Executive Director, Event Marketing and sits on the BI Live team. This position is based in our New York City HQ with an in-office presence of at least 2 days per week. 

Audience Recruitment

  • Lead attendee communications and act as the primary point of contact for the BI audience from invitation to thank you and including on-site registration support, deliver a white glove experience at each touch point
  • Create and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, email, and paid media channels to optimize audience engagement and conversion.
  • Manage event marketing plans including but not limited to ticketing strategies, and audience experience 
  • Conduct audience research and data analysis to refine targeting, segmentation, and engagement strategies.
  • Partner with internal teams (editorial, sponsorship, sales, creative) to align audience and marketing initiatives with business goals and audience development strategies
  • Develop marketing materials, creative briefs, and content to support audience acquisition and engagement initiatives.

Operations and Reporting 

Manage the marketing tech stack and infrastructure for event registration, email communications, and landing pages in coordination with relevant internal teams.

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure marketing effectiveness and optimize campaigns.
  • Provide post-event reports with audience insights, engagement metrics, and marketing ROI analysis.

The Ideal Candidate Has:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, audience development, or related fields, with a strong focus on live events, digital media, or branded experiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using marketing performance tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Business Manager, CRM systems, etc.).
  • Experience in audience segmentation, data-driven decision-making, and audience growth strategies.
  • Experience with community engagement and management a plus
  • Background in event marketing, ticketing strategies, and enhancing audience experiences for live and virtual events.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally.
  • A creative and strategic mindset, with the ability to craft compelling brand narratives and marketing messages.
  • Passion for journalism, media, and live experiences that drive meaningful audience engagement.

  • Base salary: $90,000 - $100,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
