What does an audience assistant do?

An Audience Assistant is responsible for supporting the smooth operation of live events, television shows, or studio recordings by managing audience members. Their duties often include checking tickets, guiding guests to their seats, providing information, and ensuring that audience members follow safety and etiquette guidelines. They may also assist with audience participation segments and help maintain a positive environment. Audience Assistants play a crucial role in creating an enjoyable and organized experience for both the audience and the production team.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be an audience assistant?

To thrive as an Audience Assistant, you typically need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in event coordination or customer service. Familiarity with ticketing systems, scheduling software, and sometimes basic AV equipment is commonly required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure help you stand out in ensuring a positive experience for guests. These qualities are crucial for managing large groups, handling logistical challenges, and upholding the smooth operation of live events or productions.

What are the typical responsibilities and challenges of an audience assistant during live events or productions?

You’ll also coordinate closely with production staff to communicate updates and resolve any audience-related issues quickly. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to think on your feet, and a customer-service mindset.

  • You build strong relationships with key stakeholders from multiple teams based in Belgium and abroad (Orange Group, local subsidiaries), but also with our external partners, media agencies and technology vendors.
  • As part of Orange’s digital media community, you participate in internal seminars and share best practices with your counterparts from other countries.

  • High quality standards, solution‑oriented and can‑do attitude – contribute to fostering a “test, learn and share” culture.
  • Fluent in English and either French or Dutch.
Specific Expertise
