Job description

Our National Security team supports our Federal Government by providing, operating and assuring critical voice, video and collaboration services for the full spectrum of national security operations.

AT&T has an opening for an Applications Developer to support the day-to-day IT systems for our customized network solution in support of the federal government.

This individual is a key member of the Applications Development team and is responsible for implementing the ServiceNow application to include, at a minimum, the ServiceNow IT Service Management suite and the platform. This individual works alongside supporting team members, partners/vendors, as well as Senior Leadership, to lead the design, development, testing, deployment, sustainment, and administering of the ServiceNow solution. They perform technical aspects of the ServiceNow implementation including: ServiceNow solution architecture, install, application UI, process automation, external integrations, access control, security hardening, workflow design/configuration, reporting, upgrades, and patching. They also provide ServiceNow focused consultation and technical leadership. They support the Technical Exchange Meetings, contribute to user-facing documents, and are responsible for ServiceNow applications upkeep.

The job duties of the Applications Developer are as follows:

  • This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.
  • Performs designing, programming, testing and debugging ServiceNow and applicable scripts.
  • Perform capacity planning, system tuning, problem analysis and hardware/software upgrades.
  • Develop administrative policies, documentation, and procedures to ensure that ServiceNow is properly maintained and operated.
  • Perform testing and establish system acceptance criteria on new or current hardware and software.
  • Build service requests from customer requirements, request items, and tasks.
  • Determine training needs and develop ServiceNow based guidelines tailored to the work environment.
  • Build client profiles and system configurations for software distribution equipment.
  • Respond to system alerts and engage in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Use workflows to manage data flows from customers to support teams.
  • Use scripting tools to process automation and perform integration.
  • Import and export data across various enterprise applications.
  • Perform system and integration testing with sample and live data.
  • Monitor the health and status of ServiceNow and applicable scripts.
  • Work with IT managers to generate views and reports as needed.
  • Analyze user requirements and current procedures to improve system capabilities.
  • Install software releases and maintains data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Consult with clients, hardware and software vendors, users, system administrators, and engineers.
  • Provide technical support for development, test, and production environments.
  • Experience in Linux/Unix System Administration.
  • Experience in managing a Self-Hosted ServiceNow instance and upgrading ServiceNow Core applications.
  • Assess existing ServiceNow usage and recommend forward evolution to maximize efficiencies.
  • Perform integrations and process automation using ServiceNow Orchestration.
  • Understand ITIL/ITSM processes.
  • Understand HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the support and development of ServiceNow, Splunk, Nlyte, VMware, Ansible, etc.

Required Qualifications:

Five (5) years of experience as a Developer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required. Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university, a developer nanodegree, or equivalent work experience, is required.

- Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.

- Must comply with DoD 8570 IAT, Level 2 (Security+).

- Must be US Citizen.
