Summary:Responsible for the operational oversight of their assigned branch, in lieu of the Branch Services Manager. Responsible for ensuring all functions performed on the teller line are compliant and adhere to regulations and company procedures. Implements directives from Teller Operations Manager and Branch Services Manager. Ensures staff follow established protocol to maintain accuracy and integrity of the system. Exercises sound judgment to approve over-rides and transactions that are beyond the authorization of other teller staff. Assists with the training of all new Tellers. Answers questions and responds to elevated customer issues. Assists the Branch Services Manager in the administration of new policy and procedures. Ensures the teller line is operational at all times from a scheduling perspective.Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or general education (GED). Two years of education and/or training beyond high school, preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Notary Public, preferred.Experience: Two to three years of related banking experience and/or training. General PC knowledge. Prior cash handling experience. Thorough knowledge of deposit-related regulations. Previous supervisory experience, preferred. Previous sales experience preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Essential Functions:A: Job Specific:Works closely with the Branch Services Manager to ensure the teller line is appropriately staffed at all times. Monitors Branch to ensure security measures are being adequately implemented. Maintain "Red Security Folders". Assist Branch Service Manager in proper training of branch staff in robbery protocol. Perform security system testing as mandated by the Security Officer. Maintain proper documentation of all testing. Assist BSM in determining placement of cameras to ensure adequate coverage. Responsible for notify BSM and management of any security issues. Oversees the operations of the branch in lieu of the BSM. Responsible for assigning essential functions of the branch to staff, to include ATM, Vault, night deposits, logs, etc. Performs monthly alarm tests, and internal audits to identify breaches in security or deviations from procedures. Responsible for preparing the branch to pass internal and external audits. Completes and process holds/CTR's as required to meet compliance and Bank mandates.Performs general account maintenance such as address changes.Ensures all staff operate within the appropriate cash levels and that all other bank policies are being followed. Review CTR's for accuracy and completeness.Provides feedback to the BSM on Teller performance as it relates to technical aptitude. Corrects errors and provides supplemental training when necessary.Assists with the training and orientation of new staff members.Provides assistance to all Tellers. Answers questions, gives approvals, explains procedures and monitors compliance.Performs all Teller duties to include processing deposits, withdrawals, payments, redeeming savings bonds, etc. Answers phone calls and processes customer requests.Researches customer complaints, corrects errors and provides follow-up. Utilizes back office capture to send transactions to corporate. Assists with resolving problems in order to balance the branch.Assists with the reconciliation of the ATM, vault, individual drawers and night deposit as needed or when assigned.Works with Branch Services Manager to ensure that all safety measures are being followed. Enforces all cash handling procedures to ensure proper balancing and all money is properly secured and accounted for. Performs audits at the request of the Branch Services Manager or Operations Manager.Provides feedback to the BSM in regards to individual performance, problems and general branch operations. Maintains constant communication with BSM and other staff members. Performs Branch Service Manager responsibilities in their absence with the exception of employee relation issues. All employee relation issues are to be referred to the Operations Manager and/or HR during the BSM's absence.Exercises good judgment to protect the interest of the employees, the bank and the customer.Responsible for ordering and keeping an adequate inventory of all branch supplies.Opens basic personal checking, savings and health savings accounts. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:The ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both in verbal and written communications.Excellent interpersonal skills.Strong knowledge of the business area that is being supported.Self-directed and motivated.The ability to manage multiple tasks.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Sutton Bank is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
