Job description

Location: Various branches in Indianapolis area

Summary/objective:

As a Teller, you will serve as the primary point of contact for members at Indiana Members Credit Union, ensuring a positive and efficient banking experience. Your role is critical in processing a variety of financial transactions accurately and securely, including deposits, withdrawals, and payments. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of cash handling procedures and adhering to regulatory compliance standards. Additionally, you will identify member needs and provide information about the bank's products and services, contributing to customer satisfaction and retention. Your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will help foster trust and build lasting relationships with members.

Essential functions

  • Process various member transactions – deposits, withdrawals, loans and credit card cash advances, various types of loan & credit card payments, money orders, cashier checks, corporate checks, crossing selling other products, update members accounts, handle members problems & complaints, wire transfers, complete payroll deduction forms, direct deposits forms
  • Access safe deposit boxes when applicable
  • Handle and maintain security of large amounts of cash
  • Communicate with all back-office departments for assistance and member requests
  • Open and close various types of accounts, certificates, etc.
  • Create/order ATM/Debit cards for members
  • Process stop payments, print statements and histories for members.
  • Remote Capture of checks
  • Balance cash drawer daily
  • Assist with night deposits and ATM deposits
  • Other duties in the branch may include counting cash delivery, balancing ATM, filing, keeping teller area and branch clean and organized, help with “end of day” duties, stocking lobby with supplies
