Job Description

VEA is seeking a candidate to support our federal client's ability to build an Atlassian JIRA application (low-code/no-code platform). The qualified candidate builds, develops, and maintains automation workflows in JIRA, develops plugins to extend JIRA capabilities, makes dashboards for JIRA Connect add-ons, configures custom fields, supports JIRA configurations that include all client requirements, creates custom preset filters, test outcomes, and identifies defects. Application will be developed in an unclassified environment and then moved from low to high for implementation.

Duties:

  • Build, customize, and support the Atlassian JIRA workflow automation capability/application to meet the needs and demands of key client stakeholders and their mission
  • Configure workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes
  • Configure Add-ons and modules to expand the capabilities of Atlassian stack
  • Leverage JavaScript, JSP, SQL, Python and other programming languages
  • Build APIs within Atlassian products and cross network applications
  • Recommend, design, and built out industry recommended or customized Atlassian Jira Workflows
  • Build Identity & Access Management (IAM) integrations for Atlassian Authentication & Authorization with technologies such as Active Directory or LDAP
  • Adhere to scrum within the agile methodology to complete work
Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active TS with SCI eligibility or higher clearance
  • Working knowledge with software platforms and services, such as, Docker, Kubernetes, JMS/SQS/SNS, AWS Lambda, NiFi
  • Hands on experience with Atlassian suite of tools both from a configuration standpoint and customization aspect
  • Experience with building role based application management
  • Experience with cloud message APIs and usage of push notifications
  • Experience and/or familiarity with Code & Release Management tools (e.g., Git, Bitbucket)
  • Possess developer skillsets with an agile-first approach and deep empathy for surrounding developers and partnered engineering teams
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver features and products for delivery of capabilities to large user populations
  • Experience working with partners and teammates to solidify solution design, contribute to design working sessions, and outline solution paths for new capability development
  • Possess eagerness to explore new technologies to innovate, solve problems, perform proof-of-concepts, & conduct exploratory research
  • Proven aptitude in recommending, designing, and building out industry recommended or customized Atlassian Jira workflows

Desired Skills:

  • 4+ years minimum experience with Atlassian JIRA development 
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technology related field 
  • Understanding of cloud architectures and enabling tools and technologies, such as, AWS Cloud (GovCloud/C2S)
  • Familiar with Amazon Web Managed Services (AWS)
  • Proficient experience utilizing JavaScript, Angular, Typescript, Node.js, MongoDB, JSON, SQL, XML
  • Familiar with technologies jQuery, ASP/.Net, NoSQL, PL/SQL, LDAP, HTTP, REST/SOAP, RDBMS
  • Familiar with Configuration Management and CI Tools, such as, Git/Gitlab, Jenkins, SonarQube, Maven, Ansible, Chef
  • Familiar with Linux/Unix server environments
