The Work
The Sensor Architectures Department's Naval & Fixed Site Digital Array Radar group drives innovative solutions for a diverse set of next generation radar, EW, and multifunction sensor programs, IRAD projects, and proposals. The group provides system architecture definition and technical leadership, requirements analysis and trade studies, algorithm development, simulation models, and subject matter expertise for internal and external customers. As the group's manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for day-to-day management and development of the staff, functional initiatives, and driving technical excellence, affordability, and program execution. For management and staff development, the candidate is responsible for technical coaching and mentoring, and aligning work assignments with program needs and individual career development objectives. To support functional initiatives, the candidate is responsible for employee hiring and onboarding, implementing the LM Atlas Perform performance assessment cycle, and recognition and disciplinary actions. To drive technical excellence, affordability, and program execution, the candidate will assist in implementing the LM engineering development process, facilitate cross-program knowledge transfer to share best practices, and allocate talent to ensure appropriate systems engineering and architecture leadership. Furthermore, the candidate will often act as the systems engineering focal point for proposal, program or IRAD activities during planning and cost estimating. Finally, the candidate may be asked to assist successful completion of a major project during a critical phase of execution. Work location is Moorestown, NJ, and occasional travel is required.
Functional Manager managing an RMS Engineering and Technology (E&T) organization supporting the programs within the IWSS organization.
This Manager will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate engineering processes, technical personnel, and design tools are applied and managed.
Staffing responsibilities include the projection and planning of appropriate staffing levels, recruiting and selection of interns, contractors, college hires and experienced professionals.
This role oversees a very diverse and highly skilled set of engineers in E&T.
The position will be responsible for program execution, driving technical and organizational strategy, instilling and maintaining engineering discipline, and enhancing employee experiences while focusing on functional management excellence.
