PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Athenian School seeks an Associate Director of Admission to advance enrollment goals through relationship-building, full-cycle applicant management, and data-informed strategy. Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management, this role partners across the School to deliver an engaging, mission-aligned admissions experience.

The Associate Director serves as a primary contact for prospective families, guiding them through the admissions and financial aid processes with clarity and care. Key responsibilities include conducting interviews, leading tours, representing Athenian at events and school fairs, and building relationships with feeder schools, counselors, and community partners to support outreach and yield.

This role manages a portfolio of applicants from inquiry through enrollment, including application review, committee participation, and ensuring timely completion of materials and communications. The Associate Director is also responsible for tracking and analyzing admissions data across the funnelโ€”monitoring inquiry, application, and yield trends; generating reports; and using insights to inform recruitment strategies and process improvements. The role leverages CRM systems to maintain data integrity, improve workflows, and support strategic decision-making.

The position contributes to the planning and execution of admissions events and leads the Student Ambassador Program, partnering with students and families to elevate authentic community voices. The Associate Director collaborates with colleagues across campus, including marketing and communications, and participates actively in school life.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates are collaborative, detail-oriented professionals who bring strong interpersonal and organizational skills along with an analytical mindset. Experience in admissions, enrollment, education, or a related field is necessary.

The ideal candidate communicates with clarity and warmth, builds trust with diverse constituencies, and demonstrates sound judgment and discretion. Experience with CRM systems and comfort using data to inform decisions are essential, as is a commitment to equitable and inclusive admissions practices.

A bachelorโ€™s degree is required. Experience in an independent school setting and/or leading student-facing programs is a plus. Successful candidates will demonstrate alignment with Athenianโ€™s mission and values and an understanding of admissions as both a strategic and relational practice.

BENEFITS, COMPENSATION, PROFESSIONAL GROWTH & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Athenian provides excellent benefits and salaries are competitive and commensurate with work experience and education. The salary range for this role is $85,000 โ€“ $110,000, depending on experience. Community members enjoy meals on campus and use of athletics facilities, including a pool, gym and fitness center.ย 

All employees participate in school wide professional development, and have the opportunity to pursue a range of additional professional growth opportunities. These include, but are not limited to, funded participation in professional conferences and continuing education opportunities. Athenian provides needed training for CPR/AED certification.

All employees are expected to attend all-school functions relevant to their role and to participate in supporting the student experience with other school duties as requested by their direct supervisor.
