PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership & System Stability
  • Own daily operational health and availability of RCS billing & coding systems (including athenaIDX & Athena EDI), automation, interfaces, and batch processes.
  • Serve as primary escalation point for system incidents, performance degradation, and recurring operational issues.
  • Lead coordination of incident response, root-cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
  • Oversee daily, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end system readiness and monitoring.

Team Leadership & Workforce Management
  • Manage, coach, and develop RCS Systems Analysts and assigned resources.
  • Define operating procedures, coverage models, and escalation paths.
  • Manage workload prioritization, on-call support, cross-training, and continuity planning.
  • Perform administrative duties including payroll, time-off approvals, performance management, and goal setting.

Change, Risk & Governance
  • Enforce change management standards, approvals, and documentation for Tier 2 and Tier 3 system changes.
  • Ensure audit-ready system operations supporting SOX, SOC, HIPAA, and security access requirements.
  • Maintain operational controls, access reviews, disaster recovery documentation, and policy adherence.
  • Partner with leadership on risk identification, mitigation strategies, and executive reporting.

Automation, Interfaces & Batch Operations
  • Oversee batch workflows including night jobs, TES evaluations, extracts, interfaces, ETM automation, scripts, and error traps.
  • Ensure proactive monitoring, alerting, and resolution of automation failures.
  • Drive automation strategy focuses on efficiency, scalability, control, and cost reduction.

Business Partnership & Communication
  • Translate technical issues into clear, actionable business impacts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide operational status reporting, trending, and executive summaries.
  • Support UAT, implementations, and revenue cycle initiatives requiring system engagement.

Platform & Vendor Management
  • Act as an operational liaison with AthenaIDX, Athena EDI, Athena hosting partners, , KAV Consulting and internal IT teams.
  • Manage vendor cases, SLAs, incident trends, and service improvements.
  • Coordinate testing, validation, and readiness for system upgrades, patches, and enhancements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong operational decision-making and incident management skills.
  • Experience managing audit controls, access governance, and compliance documentation.
  • Proven ability to lead Revenue Cycle or System Application operations in a regulated healthcare revenue cycle environment.
  • Deep understanding of medical billing, coding, reimbursement logic, and compliance impacts.
  • Ability to balance operational workload, projects, and strategic initiatives
  • Working knowledge of scripting tools including Cache, SQL, ETM Agent, Visual Basic, PowerShell, WINSCP, FTP, Windows Task Scheduler, and terminal scripting.
  • Working knowledge of interface technologies (HCO, SUI, APIs) and monitoring practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to executives and technical teams

EDUCATION (Required and/or Preferred):
  • High School Diploma (Required)
  • Bachelor/Master degree (Preferred)

WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 8+ years of experience in Revenue Cycle or Healthcare Systems operations.
  • 3+ years of leadership, operational management, or project management experience.
  • 2+ years of healthcare application support (athenaIDX)or comparable healthcare billing system experience.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or comparable ITSM platforms (preferred).

Pay Range:
72,738.00 - 107,672.00 USD annually
This range represents the anticipated base salary for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
