Job description

As the nation's premier tire distributor, ATD's coast-to-coast distribution network provides approximately 80,000 customers across the U.S. and Canada with rapid and frequent delivery of high quality tires, custom wheels and shop supplies.
Position Description:
Under the general direction of the RDC Operations Manager, the Lead Person is responsible for assisting Management with multiple tasks such as training, coaching, and onboarding new and existing associates. Assists with the day to day operation, performs daily inventory accuracies, and adheres to the company/mixing center policies and procedures. Supports Management in achieving optimal productivity by delegating tasks to assigned team members while maintaining levels of quality, accuracy of inventory, and safety of associates. Performs a variety of duties relating to warehousing, product movement, and inventory functions within the RDC. Provides feedback to Management as to the team member's job performance as needed. Assist with administering the safety program set forth by ATD.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between team members and Management, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues.
  • Adhere to all company policies and department procedures, promptly reporting non-compliance by team members to Supervisor/Manager.
  • Assist in administering the safety program to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Collaborate daily with Supervisor/Manager to discuss goals, inventory levels, and adherence to timelines, leading the team to achieve established objectives.
  • Complete process, accuracy, and production reports aligned with daily goals, communicating findings to operations Supervisor/Manager.
  • Conduct on-the-job training and cross-training using SEAL onboarding tools and processes for new and existing associates.
  • Coordinate planned workflow in alignment with Supervisor/Manager directives.
  • Ensure team members fulfill their roles effectively under Management's guidance, maintaining operational smoothness.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements, supporting implementation efforts.
  • Provide necessary resources to team members to optimize their performance and support leadership objectives throughout shifts.
  • Work closely with Management to maintain inventory integrity and accuracy, striving for an inventory variance of 2% or less.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Travel required: 5% of the time
