Job description

Description
At Hausen Law, we represent people during some of the hardest moments of their financial lives - and we help them come out the other side with a real path forward. Chapter 7, Chapter 13, debt relief. We practice throughout Ohio, appearing in bankruptcy courts across the state, and the work matters - clients remember it.
We're hiring an associate attorney who wants to learn consumer bankruptcy from attorneys who've been doing this for years. You won't be stuck on the sidelines. From day one, you'll be drafting petitions and plans, appearing at 341 meetings, handling confirmation hearings, and working directly with clients who need real answers. Our experienced attorneys and paralegals will teach you the practice - from the Bankruptcy Code and local rules to the trustee preferences and judge-by-judge nuances that vary across Ohio's divisions and that law school never covers.
What you'll do
Draft Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petitions, schedules, and plans. Conduct legal research on dischargeability, exemptions, lien stripping, and plan confirmation issues. Represent clients at 341 meetings of creditors and bankruptcy court hearings across Ohio. Counsel clients through their options and walk them through the process. Maintain client files and manage case progression with our paralegal team. Contribute to strategy on contested matters and adversary proceedings.
