Description
The Site Security Specialist supports on-site security operations and serves as a key professional security asset to the client. This role is responsible for executing security measures, assessing threats, responding to incidents, and coordinating with internal teams, client leadership, and external partners.
The position requires sound judgment, professionalism, emotional maturity, and the ability to remain calm and effective during high-stress or emergency situations. Specialists are expected to maintain a high standard of appearance, conduct, firearms proficiency, and operational readiness while delivering professional security services in a corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to incidents as an armed responder during active assailant events, emergencies, and security-related incidents while conducting initial investigative triage and emergency response actions
  • Support evacuations, lockdowns, shelter-in-place operations, and other emergency procedures while maintaining calm, professionalism, and effective communication during high-stress situations
  • Maintain proficiency with assigned firearms, defensive tactics, emergency response procedures, and operational readiness standards in accordance with company policy
  • Serve as a liaison between the company, client, and security personnel while supporting service delivery objectives and maintaining professional client relationships
  • Review Daily Activity Logs, support surveillance detection efforts, and assist with investigations, reporting, and intelligence gathering
  • Support training delivery, security awareness initiatives, onboarding/offboarding processes, scheduling, equipment accountability, and site-specific security operations
  • Exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and situational awareness while interacting with employees, visitors, clients, law enforcement, and vendors
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned in support of the client and operational mission

  • Ability to remain calm, composed, and effective during emergencies, incidents, or confrontational situations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with executives, employees, clients, vendors, and law enforcement
  • Proficient in firearms handling, safe weapons manipulation, and defensive response principles
  • Strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and ability to identify and appropriately respond to security concerns
  • Self-motivated and capable of operating independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, report writing, electronic documentation systems, and security technologies including CCTV and access control systems
  • Demonstrates accountability, reliability, and commitment to operational standards and client service

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years in corporate, operational security, military, or law enforcement environments
  • Experience with active assailant prevention and response programs
  • Supervisory or leadership exposure preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (not a substitute for experience)

Licensing Requirements (Mandatory):
  • Valid state-issued Armed Security Guard License (where required by jurisdiction)
  • Valid Concealed Carry License/Permit
  • Legal authority to carry a firearm in the state of assignment
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Ability to successfully complete company firearms qualification and ongoing proficiency requirements

General Expectations
This role may require extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting, along with occasional exposure to environmental conditions. Travel may be required on short notice. Candidates must be able to perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Personnel must maintain professional appearance, fitness for duty, and the ability to safely and responsibly carry and deploy a firearm when required
  • Individuals must demonstrate the ability to exercise restraint, good judgment, and professionalism in all interactions and security-related responses

Required Documentation and Certifications
During the hiring process, applicants will be required to provide documentation to verify qualifications, experience, certifications, and licensing. This may include, but is not limited to, DD214 documentation for prior military service, instructor certifications, security licenses, firearms or training certifications, and other supporting documentation relevant to the position.
